Upload Your Knowledge Base
Give your bot the information it needs to answer customer questions accurately. You can add knowledge several ways.
Option 1: Paste a Website URL
The fastest method. Paste any URL and BotForge will scrape and read the content automatically.
- Go to Knowledge → Add Source
- Select "Website URL"
- Paste the URL (e.g., your FAQ page, pricing page, about page)
- Click "Import"
💡 Best URLs to Import
Your homepage, pricing page, FAQ page, contact page, and any product/service description pages work best.
Option 2: Upload Documents
Upload PDFs, text files, or Word docs. Great for brochures, menus, catalogs, or policy documents.
Supported formats: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .txt, .md
Max file size: 10MB per file
Option 3: Type or Paste Text
For quick FAQ entries or short knowledge snippets:
- Go to Knowledge → Add Source
- Select "Plain Text"
- Type or paste your content
Option 4: Q&A Format
Add questions and answers directly:
Q: How long does shipping take? A: Standard shipping takes 3-5 business days. Q: What's your return policy? A: We accept returns within 30 days of purchase.
⚠️ File Processing Time
Large documents may take a few minutes to process. You'll see a "Processing" indicator — don't close the page until it finishes.
Organizing Your Knowledge
Use tags to organize sources by topic (e.g., "shipping", "pricing", "returns"). This helps you find and manage content later.
Updating Knowledge
Knowledge sources can be edited or deleted at any time. Changes take effect within a few minutes.
