Train Your Bot to Be More Accurate
A well-trained bot answers questions accurately and helps customers instead of frustrating them. Here's how to get the best results.
Start with FAQs
The fastest way to improve your bot: add your 10 most common questions and answers. Think about what customers ask every day.
Use Specific, Concise Answers
Don't write essays. Give direct answers:
- Bad: "Well, our shipping times can vary depending on a number of factors like where you're located, what shipping method you choose, and whether the items are in stock..."
- Good: "We ship via USPS Priority Mail. Most orders arrive in 2-3 business days. Express shipping (1-2 days) available for $12."
💡 The Golden Rule
Write answers as if you're talking to a customer on the phone — concise, friendly, and to the point.
Add Multiple Variations
Customers ask the same thing many ways. Add common phrasings:
- "How much is shipping?"
- "What's the delivery cost?"
- "Do you charge for shipping?"
- "Shipping prices?"
Include Edge Cases
Add Q&As for unusual situations:
- "What if my order is damaged?"
- "Can I change my order after ordering?"
- "Do you ship internationally?"
⚠️ Keep It Accurate
If you don't know the answer, tell the bot to say "I don't have that information, let me connect you with someone who can help." Don't guess — it causes problems.
Review Conversations Regularly
Check your bot's conversation history weekly. Look for:
- Questions the bot couldn't answer
- Incorrect answers given
- Gaps in your knowledge base
Test Before You Launch
Use the preview chat to ask questions yourself. If you wouldn't be satisfied with the answer, neither will your customers.
