Getting Started with BotForge
Welcome to BotForge! This guide will walk you through setting up your first AI chatbot in under 10 minutes.
Step 1: Create Your Account
After signing up, you'll land on your dashboard. This is where you create, manage, and monitor all your chatbots.
Step 2: Create Your First Bot
Click the "Create Bot" button. Give your bot a name and select your AI model (Claude, GPT-4, or Groq Mixtral).
Step 3: Train Your Bot
Your bot needs knowledge to answer questions. You can add:
- URLs — Paste website URLs and BotForge will scrape the content
- Documents — Upload PDFs, text files, or Word docs
- FAQs — Type or paste common questions and answers
- Plain text — Just type or paste information directly
💡 Pro Tip
Start with your top 10 most-asked customer questions. Upload those first, then expand from there.
Step 4: Customize Responses
Set up custom greetings, fallback messages ("I'm not sure about that, let me connect you with a human"), and conversation starters.
Step 5: Add Your Bot to Your Website
Click "Embed Bot" to get your embed code. You can:
- Use the chat widget (copy/paste one line of code)
- Use the popup version
- Open in a dedicated page
Step 6: Test and Launch
Use the built-in preview to chat with your bot before going live. Make adjustments until you're happy with the responses.
